Films For This Season

We have had a change recently at Eden Valley Flix, instead of showing films every two weeks, we are going to show films on the last weekend of the month.  Please see the list of films below for more information.

Dev Patel stars in this story about a 5 year old boy who gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and return to his home.

Moana ~ PG

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfils the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

Hidden Figures ~ PG

The true story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the US space programme. These 3 brilliant women serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race and galvanized the world.

Beauty and the Beast ~ U

Emma Watson stars in this film as Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, who is taken prisoner by a beast in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.

Baby is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny, enlists Baby as his new partner. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.
